Ke:nx On Screen
Communication Setups
Startup Guide

Follow these steps to explore the On Screen Communication feature available on Ke:nx:

 1. Be sure the red light on the Ke:nx box is pushed down.

 2. Turn on the computer.

 3. Use the mouse to put the arrow on the word Ke:nx at the top of the screen.  (If you are using the computer that has a Touch Window, you can use your fingertip or the white plastic stylus that comes with the Touch Window.)  Release the mouse on the word Setup.

 4. Click on the open folder icon and select Communication.  Click on Communication Start Here.  If it is already highlighted, Go on to the next step.

 5. Click on Load Setup.

The setup is now active.  You can use either the mouse or the Touch Window to access the on-screen communication board.
 
 

Ke:nx Alternate Keyboard

Follow these steps to explore the Alternate Keyboard Communication feature available on Ke:nx:

 1. Be sure the red light on the Ke:nx box is pushed down.

 2. Turn on the computer.

 3. Use the mouse to put the arrow on the word Ke:nx at the top of the screen.  Release the mouse on the word Setup.

 4. Click on the open folder icon and drag to Alternate Keyboard.  (If it is already highlighted, go on to the next step.)

 5. Click on one of the Communication Setups (e.g.) Spanish Communication.

 6. Click on Load Setup.

The setup you selected is now active.  The Unicorn Expanded Keyboard can now be used as a talking communication board.  Just be sure that the correct paper overlay has been placed on the Unicorn Board.
