Visual Scene Resources

The AAC Lab at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is pleased to provide you with visual scenes templates for low-tech books. The templates are available in full-page, half-page, and index card sizes. If you have a PC computer, use the Publisher templates. If you have a Mac computer, use the Pages templates. Manuals for improving the efficiency of using the templates are provided below.

Low-Tech Visual Scene Manual (PDF) – Publisher Manual (PC) | Pages Manual (Mac)
This manual shows how to create your own templates using either Microsoft Publisher or Apple Pages. The manuals also show how to use the templates.

AAC Templates – Publisher files (PC) | Pages files (Mac)
These templates include a cover page and four half-pages with tabs. This could be used to create a book of important information for persons with aphasia.

A variety of template sizes, which include 3x5, full page (landscape and portrait orientations), half-page (landscape and portrait orientations). Files are labeled with names identifying the sizes, along with how many pictures and text symbols are in each file.
